Unibet improves self-exclusion process with Gamban integration
Upcoming software integration will allow users to mirror site blocking length with self-exclusion period

Unibet will become the first UK betting brand to integrate Gamban’s blocking software into the self-exclusion process.
Kindred first partnered with Gamban back in April 2018 and the operator has now extended the relationship across its Unibet brand to help users self-exclude for a longer period.
The integration will soon allow players to use Gamban blocking software for a period that mirrors their self-exclusion length. Gamban offered a one-year blocking period previously.
“Responsible gambling is at the top of the agenda at Kindred,” said Kindred Group UK general manager Neil Banbury.

Kindred Group’s Neil Banbury
“We are strong advocates for education around responsible gambling and ensuring all of our customers are able to make an informed choice.
“All of our customers should have the tools and support they need to enjoy our products responsibly and by offering this service for free to all of our customers we are certainly taking a step in the right direction.
“This is just the start of such an initiative as we want to keep on investing across all brands and in other socially responsible innovations,” he added.
GambleAware last year made Gamban available to all individuals undergoing treatment in its national gambling treatment services.
A recent study from the safer gambling charity suggested that Gamban is 99% effective in blocking users from gambling websites.

Gamban’s Jack Symons
Gamban CEO Jack Symons said: “Self-exclusion must evolve to protect at-risk individuals from different angles – device, ID and spend.
“Unibet and Kindred recognise the value in mirroring the duration of blocking software to the amount of time the player selects for self-exclusion, from six months up to five years.”
