
Unregulated Swedish market grows 22% in Q3
GGR from offshore operators totals SEK 1.4bn during the period, while Svenska Spel reports double-digit online growth

Gross gaming revenues (GGR) from Swedish offshore operators rose 21.5% during Q3 2016, while Svenska Spel’s double-digit online growth helped grow the regulated market.
According to figures released by the Swedish gaming regulator Lotteriinspektionen, GGR from offshore operators totalled SEK 1.4bn for the period ended 30 September 2016.
State-owned operator Svenska Spel reported a 12% increase in online revenues during Q3 amounting to SEK 457m after previously noting its improved digital performance was driven by sales via mobile devices.
The state-owned operator’s overall performance however remained at similar levels to last year at SEK 2.2bn.
Its retail operations declined for a second consecutive quarter with revenues totalling SEK 1.7bn â a drop of 5% from last year’s comparative period.
Horseracing operator ATG saw its online revenues increase 15% year-on-year to SEK 527m this year, while retail revenues dipped 2.5% year-on-year.
