Weizer: Ladbrokes can become one of Playtech's top three licensees
Software provider expects staggered integration of all products to be complete before end of 2014.

Ladbrokes has the potential to become one of Playtech’s top three licensees before the end of its 5+ year agreement, the chief executive of the software provider claimed today.
On an analyst call this morning following the landmark deal, Weizer said he believed the operator has the potential to reach a similar level as its highest-profile existing licensees, which include the likes of William Hill, bet365 and Paddy Power.
“We are confident of the success Ladbrokes can provide in the coming years,” he said, adding that following the initial five-year period of the licensing and advisory agreement he expected Playtech’s software “To remain in place [across Ladbrokes’ offering] for a period of time.”
The agreement will see Ladbrokes take on advisory services from Playtech’s PTTS division, as well as casino and games software, while Weizer noted that the company expected Ladbrokes to eventually move its poker offering to the London-listed provider’s iPoker network.
“We expect everything to be fully integrated before the end of 2014, but certain things have to happen before then between Ladbrokes and its current suppliers,” he explained. A spokesman for Ladbrokes told eGaming Review that the operator “Will honour all existing contracts.”
The chief executive also reiterated that the agreement with Ladbrokes, does not cover Betdaq, the betting exchange acquired by Ladbrokes for 30m earlier this year.
It also does not cover Ladbrokes’ Spanish and South African operations, despite being an international agreement, however Weizer said: “This is still subject to further discussions.”
Of Betdaq, Weizer said: “It is segregated from digital [for the purposes of this agreement] however if the marketing team sends traffic to Betdaq there is an arrangement in place to compensate us for that.”
