William Hill appoints former SBG manager as new head of retail responsible gambling
Sky Betting & Gaming’s Dan Whitlam joins Hills in newly-created head of responsible gambling role

William Hill has appointed former Sky Betting & Gaming (SBG) compliance manager Dan Whitlam as its new retail head of responsible gambling.
Whitlam worked as a senior risk and audit manager for William Hill until 2014 but left to join SBG where he spent more than four years in risk and regulatory compliance roles.
The new retail role was created to help support and advance the London-based operator’s “Nobody Harmed” safer gambling commitment which launched last year.
Lyndsay Wright will remain as William Hill’s director of strategy and sustainability.

Whitlam will be based in Leeds and will assist shop colleagues and line management in protecting retail customers at risk of problem gambling, while ensuring marketing activity remains compliant.
Whitlam will also work alongside Hills’ compliance, gaming and data science teams to further develop how William Hill identifies, interacts and intervenes with at-risk customers.
Whitlam has more than 15 years of experience in the egaming industry having started his career as a cashier customer service assistant for Ladbrokes.
William Hill retail MD Nicola Frampton said: “Dan’s appointment will aid us in our commitment to ensure that nobody is harmed by gambling and the experience he brings with him will be vital in helping to protect our retail customers.”
The £2 limit on FOBT stakes will be implemented in April.
