William Hill brings back retail chief as head of sportsbook compliance
Mark McCaffrey returns to the 888-owned firm after spending two years at The Rank Group

William Hill has re-hired Mark McCaffrey to become the operator’s new head of sportsbook compliance.
McCaffrey rejoins the 888-owned operator after spending just over two years as head of player protection at The Rank Group.
Before his stint at The Rank Group, McCaffrey spent over a decade with William Hill in a number of roles.
He originally joined the operator as a district operations manager in July 2007. In that role, McCaffrey led a team of 140 staff across 20 betting offices.
Following this, McCaffrey became an area operations manager before briefly taking up the retail customer experience manager role in September 2015.
In March 2016, he as operations workstream lead to design and implement a new retail structure taking into account increased costs due to the national living wage, while also modernising the retail structure to improve operational performance.
After this, McCaffrey led the business readiness programme to launch the single wallet proposition as part of his role as head of omni retail operations.
McCaffrey’s last role before his departure was as head of retail transformation, a position he held from October 2018 to November 2019. In that job, he designed and implemented the approach to reviewing Hills’ entire retail network.
