William Hill in management overhaul following trio of senior resignations
Director of sportsbook, gaming CPO and chief experience officer all resign while chief customer officer role culled in structural reorganisation

William Hill has parted company with four senior members of its management team with director of sportsbook Stuart Weston, gaming chief product officer James Curwen and chief experience officer Juergen Reutter all quitting the firm, EGR Intel has learned.
The trio left the operator in recent weeks and, speaking to EGR Intel, Crispin Nieboer, William Hill Online MD, said the men had left for “the right reasons”.
“I don’t want to go into details about where they are going or what they are doing but they are not going to competitors,” Neiboer said.
“They have all been with us for a good amount of time and they are leaving for all the right reasons rather than the wrong reasons and leaving the business in very good shape,” he added.
In addition to the three resignations, chief customer officer Cem Miralay has left the firm as part of a wider reorganisation of the business which will see the Online division take full control of marketing and customer services, which had previously been managed by Miralay at a group level.
Nieboer said he would only look to directly replace Weston and had a “very clear person in mind”, however, the likes of marketing director Kristian Welch, Online CIO Itay Fisher and risk and regulatory director Matthew Gerard are to be handed greater Online responsibilities.
Furthermore, the MD said William Hill was in the process of hiring 200 technology-focused staffers across its Gibraltar, Leeds and Krakow offices to spur its online development and product personalisation strategy.
“These extra hires are going to help me accelerate growth in online and added to this Online now has control of marketing strategy and customer services for the first time,” Nieboer said.
“We always had the bulk of the spend for both of those two areas but the strategy was across both retail and online.
“This is always a bit of a balancing act but we feel that where we are now and what’s right for us in our journey is that this is the time they should move over to us,” he added.
The news comes after it was revealed William Hill’s media chief Graham Sharpe was to leave the firm this week as part of a redundancy round following 45 years of service.
