William Hill Aus unveils In-Play focused mobile app
Operator says newly redesigned iOS app puts it "well clear" of its competitors on in-running betting

William Hill Australia is looking to capitalise on the growth of in-play betting with the launch of a new mobile sports betting app on iOS.
The operator released the new mobile product in the Apple App Store last Wednesday featuring a complete redesign, new navigation tools, new markets and an enhanced in-play betting offering.
“The new app has been designed to give the fastest and most straightforward betting experience in-market,” Chris Griggs, head of customer experience at William Hill Australia, told eGaming Review.
“We undertook long periods of user testing and we were only happy to release when we were sure that we had given our customers everything they had asked for.
“It puts us well clear of our competitors – especially for In-Play – and offers a multitude of new and innovative ways to bet with William Hill,” he added.
The operator was the first in the Australian online gambling market to launch live betting on both desktop and mobile devices and recently took the decision to rebrand the product from ‘Click to Call’ to ‘In-Play’.
Last week William Hill Australia unveiled a new online video marketing campaign to promote its controversial live betting feature despite its referral to the Australian Federal Police by the Australian Communications and Media.
According to the Interactive Gambling Act, operators can only accept in-play wagers placed over the phone but William Hill allows customers to place bets via the website so long as the device’s microphone is switched on.
