William Hill books three fight sponsorship with Anthony Joshua
Deal will see bookies' branding around the ring, ropes and arena boards in his next three fights

William Hill has signed a deal with Anthony Joshua’s promoter Matchroom Sport to be the title sponsors of the IBF heavyweight champion’s next three fights.
The deal extends a previous agreement which saw the UK bookmaker sponsor Joshua’s last two bouts against Dillian Whyte and Charles Martin.
‘AJ’ returns to the ring on Saturday to defend his heavyweight title against unbeaten American Dominic Breazeale, and the event will see the Hills brand in the ring, ring posts and ropes, backdrops and the event’s promotional material.
The bookmaker has also agreed to sponsor the Joshua v Breazeale show on Sky Sports Box Office this Saturday evening.
“We’re delighted to sign this new deal with Matchroom Sport,” Alex O’Shaughnessy, chief marketing officer at William Hill, said.
“Anthony Joshua is one of the most talked about boxers of our generation and it’s exciting to align our brand to this true British sporting icon.”
Joshua has won all 16 of his professional fights by knockout after winning Olympic gold in 2012.
His opponent on Saturday, Breazale, is also undefeated with a 17-0 record, although Hills is expecting him to cause the hometown boy little trouble, with Joshua a 1/14 favourite to win by knockout.
Eddie Hearn, managing director at Matchroom Sport, said: “AJ is one of the biggest draws in world boxing right now and it’s fantastic to have one of Britain’s biggest brands with us on his journey to greatness. We’ve built up a really strong working relationship with William Hill over the last year and I believe it will continue for many years to come.”
