William Hill unveils Macau-themed casino

William Hill has launched a new Macau-themed online casino as the operator looks to replicate the success of similar land-based products and its thriving Vegas casino.

‘Macau’, which appears as a separate tab on the operator’s homepage, was soft launched last week and features Asian-themed table and live casino games including roulette, blackjack and baccarat.

The new product has also integrated exclusive slot content from Scientific Games and is now live on desktop, in retail shops and on mobile web, although there are currently no plans for a separate mobile app.

William Hill gaming director, Nick Gabriel, told eGaming Review there was a unique opportunity for an Asian-themed online casino following the success of such games in land-based establishments.

“We’re delighted to launch Macau – our customers love the immersive, authentic, Asian-themed experience and we know that the blend of game types will give endless variety and fun,” Gabriel said.

“We’re excited to see customers explore best-in-class third-party slots, familiar from visits to the big Macau casinos, industry-leading squeeze baccarat, plus our quality live experience and new variations that we’ve added to things like roulette,” he added.

Gabriel also said the operator was backing the launch of Macau with a new marketing push including increased CRM and attempts to boost cross-sell from its online sportsbook.

William Hill has enjoyed success with its Vegas casino, with the product contributing more than half (57%) of all gaming revenues in H1 2015.
