Winamax overtakes Stars in France
Standalone French operator now boasts highest traffic in home market.
Winamax has overtaken PokerStars.fr to become the leading operator for cash-game traffic in the French market.
The operator now boasts a seven-day average of 1,980 cash game players at any one time, ahead of PokerStars.fr’s 1,680, according to tracking site Pokerscout.
That total puts the operator, which won French poker operator of the year in November’s eGR Operator Awards, seventh for cash game traffic worldwide (including dot.com and other dot.country markets).
It is the first time that Winamax has been the number one player in the regulated market, where PokerStars’ and PartyPoker’s dot.fr sites are the only others with cash game traffic of over 1,000.
