Winner launches mobile poker client
Antigua and Barbuda-licensed operator among the first on the iPoker network to launch mobile poker offering
Antigua and Barbuda-licensed egaming operator Winner has become one of the first operators on Playtech’s iPoker network to launch a mobile client.
The application is not yet available on Apple’s App Store or Android Market, but can be downloaded from the operator’s website.
The client is available on all smartphones and tablets through native iOS and Android platforms, as well as a HTML5 release. All speed poker games are currently hosted on the client, with popular cash games to follow at a later date.
Playtech originally announced that a launch of its iPoker mobile client was imminent back in April and was to be rolled out with selected licensees prior to a wider scale launch.
The egaming software provider recorded a 17% year-on-year drop in poker-related revenue in H1, which was attributed to a “challenging market” for the vertical. Playtech indicated mobile to be a key element of the company’s strategy moving forward, its mobile division was up 150% year-on-year.
iPoker’s mobile client will compete against other operators already offering a mobile poker client, including the likes of Pokerstars, 888 Poker and Winamax.
Bwin.party has revealed a re-launch of its partypoker product is now expected within the next fortnight, with CEO Norbert Teufelberger stating the product to be available across all channels.
