WMS applies for Nevada licence
US-based gaming machines manufacturer becomes the 22nd applicant for a Nevada egaming licence

WMS Gaming has announced it has submitted an application to the Nevada State Gaming Control Board (GCB) for an interactive gaming licence.
The Illinois-based company has been providing slot machines, video terminals and game software for casino operators – both land-based and online – since 1999. It recently launched a social casino, Lucky Cruise, on Facebook while its UK-facing brand Jackpot Party has launched a number of online slots in recent months.
WMS president Orrin J. Edidin, is confident of the application’s success, saying “With the success and experience we have in online and interactive gaming, WMS is well positioned to help our customers move forward with confidence.
“Nevada is a recognised leader in gaming regulation and is moving consistently forward with rules and regulations for interactive gaming enablement and we are looking forward to providing our customers in the state with industry-leading products and services in a safe and secure online environment,” he added.
Nevada has seen a flock of interested parties filing for applications ever since the state sanctioned a statute allowing the licensing and regulation of online poker in December 2011. Over 20 have applied, with the most recent being Central America-based Beneficial Holdings with others “ such as software provider Playtech “ preparing their own applications.
