XLMedia inks exclusive sports betting content deal with Newsweek
London-listed affiliate will supply the news platform with content via its Sports Betting Dime brand

XLMedia has signed a new deal with global news brand Newsweek to supply sports betting content exclusively.
The content will reach around 50 million readers across the US each month and will be delivered by the media publisher’s Sports Betting Dime brand.
Under the terms of the agreement, the affiliate will focus on creating this kind of content, managing commercial deals with regulated sportsbook operators and executing monetisation strategies.
Cody Darwick, director of partnerships, said: “Our partnership with Newsweek allows our team to tap into their massive national footprint as the legalisation of sports betting spreads throughout the US, which is valuable for both of our businesses.
“We very much look forward to working with the Newsweek team and adding our insightful betting content to their premium digital property.”
Nalin Kaul, VP of strategy at Newsweek, added: “As sports betting continues to pick up steam, a deal like this – with one of the leading media companies in the betting space – helps us capture a new opportunity in content commerce.
“XLMedia has a superior ability to monetise highly engaged audiences via partnerships, and we’re very excited to enter into one with them.”
Last month, XLMedia announced that the two co-founders of its acquired CBWG business would leave the firm after the earn-out period ends.
This was closely followed by the news that Kevin Duffey, who was VP of sports media and founder of Saturday Football Inc, now part of XLMedia, had been appointed VP of North America sports and responsible for all North American sports content.
This means Duffey will play a key role in the new agreement with Newsweek.
