Yggdrasil hires SciGames' Andrew Pegler as CCO
Scientific Games’ Andrew Pegler joins supplier’s Gibraltar office, while Krzysztof Opalka also earns promotion as new chief product officer

Yggdrasil Gaming has snapped up Andrew Pegler from Scientific Games as chief commercial officer for its Gibraltar office, part of a duo of senior appointments for the supplier.
Pegler, who has more than 12 years’ experience in the egaming industry, joins Yggdrasil after four years with Scientific Games Interactive where he was senior director, key account management.
Based in Gibraltar, where it received a licence to operate last summer, Pegler will be responsible for growing the firm’s presence in the region.
Meanwhile, head of front end development and operations, Krzysztof Opałka, has also been promoted to the role of chief product officer.
Opałka was previously responsible for building the technology, processes and leading the multi-disciplinary team behind Yggdrasil’s content.
The new chief product officer, who previously worked for social gaming giant King, will be based in Yggdrasil’s development office in Krakow, Poland.
“As we continue to grow the business it is vital that we have the brightest minds and experienced hands on board, and Andrew and Krzysztof certainly meet those requirements,” Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO at Yggdrasil Gaming, said.
“They will both play a key role in the future direction of the business.”
The senior hires are the latest in a major recruitment drive the company is undertaking to meet its growth plans.
Last year, Yggdrasil Gaming created a new Stockholm-based parent company to sit on top of the supplier’s existing corporate structure.
NetEnt finance manager Frida Gustafsson was also drafted in as CFO, a newly-created role following the firm’s expansion in recent months.
