Zynga to launch Elite Slots
Social casino market leader announces fifth social casino title " Elite Slots marks latest move into midcore games development.

Zynga has announced the launch of the company’s latest social casino title, combining gambling mechanics with aspects of role playing games to attract a new midcore gaming audience.
Zynga Elite Slots is a synchronous slots game which sees up to 150 players populate a slots room, working together to fill a progress bar which, when full, will allow the players to ‘battle’ boss characters by spinning reels as many times as possible to ‘attack’ their opponent. Users can accumulate different unlockable characters “ or ‘pets “ using them in different games depending on their abilities, and can develop their characters by using them more often to allow them to gain experience and increase certain attributes.
The game offers players a choice of six slot machines; Enchanted Forest, Aurora Dreams, Treasure of Anubis, Pet Park, House of Fangs and High Noon, with players able to select from a total of 24 pets, all with different abilities, to represent them in the game.
Zynga Elite Slots will also feature a series of minigames themed to each slot machine, with the operator’s design director and former Buffalo Studios creative director Josh Gause telling Gamesbeat that such features were “essential” to a successful slot game.
“You go to Vegas, you go anywhere, and everyone loves minigames. It’s a really delightful experience that takes you away from the slots for a second and kinda engages you in a different way,” Gause explained.
The game is the fifth casino title to be developed by the studio after Zynga Poker, Zynga Bingo, Zynga Slots and Zynga Slingo. While its poker offering has performed impressively, with MAU of 33.5m according to AppData, its other titles have struggled. Zynga Bingo attracts 2.7m MAU; Zynga Slots 0.21m, and though its MAU stands at 15.4m, Zynga Slingo has seen a sharp drop in users, with MAU plummeting 15m in October, according to SuperData Research.
The launch of Zynga Elite Slots marks the company’s latest move to attract a midcore gaming audience, following the acquisition of November Studios for an undisclosed sum, announced in November this year.
