Zynga tops inaugural SCi Power 25
Social gaming giant ranked top of Social Casino Intelligence's run-down of the most successful operators in the social casino industry.

Zynga has topped the first-ever Power 25 rankings of the major players in the social casino sector, published in eGaming Review‘s sister publication Social Casino Intelligence.
The social gaming giant, which last week confirmed its plans to launch a real money offering in 2013, is the clear industry leader, with consistently among the most popular games on Facebook, with 7.4m DAU at the time of writing. Its gambling-style portfolio has grown with the launch of Zynga Bingo and Zynga Slingo, and most recently been bolstered by the launch of Zynga Slots on Android and iOS.
Following Zynga was Playtika, the social gaming operator acquired by Caesars Interactive Entertainment. While no figures have been released, Playtika’s Slotomania app is known to be one of the highest-grossing games on the Facebook platform, and the company has been one of the first social operators to invest heavily in mobile development, working with Orneon Limited before the developer was acquired by bwin.party in May.
IGT’s $500m acquisition Double Down Interactive was ranked third, with the games manufacturer’s CEO Patti Hart describing the brand as providing “accelerated growth.” It has seen MAU rise steadily since being bought in January, and is set to move into mobile with plans to develop an iOS app announced.
Aside from this top three of ‘usual suspects’, the top ten held some surprises, with smaller operators climbing above larger brands such as EA’s Popcap and 888’s Mytopia. Israeli business Dragonplay, which has attracted investment as one of the few operators to focus on Android products, and Diwip, owner of Best Casino were two of the notable additions, while Mirrorball Slots operator Plumbee was ranked ninth for its rapid growth despite being founded just last year.
