The Stars Group partners with Mount Airy for Pennsylvania launch
Isle of Man-headquartered firm to launch all three egaming verticals once licensed

The Stars Group has announced plans to launch online poker, casino and sports betting in Pennsylvania following a new partnership with local casino operator Mount Airy.
Stars said it would launch following licensing by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, but did not specify a timeline.
“We’re excited to take this next step as The Stars Group looks to broaden its presence in the United States,” said Matt Primeaux, SVP strategy & operations USA at The Stars Group.
“In partnership with Mount Airy Casino Resort, we believe we’re well positioned to capitalize on opportunities in the Commonwealth by bringing our world leading offerings to Pennsylvania players.”
Stars said it intends to utilize its existing technology, providing customers with a single account, for all three verticals.
Betting will initially be carried out under the BetStars brand, but Primeaux told EGR the recent Sky Bet acquisition, which is currently under review by the UK competition watchdog, gives Stars a “host of options that will be explored in time” in the US.
Vincent Jordan, VP of marketing & gaming operations at Mount Airy, added: “As one of Pennsylvania’s leaders in entertainment, offering internet sports wagering and gaming and partnering with The Stars Group is the obvious next step for us to continue diversifying our casino offerings.
“Introducing internet gaming through The Stars Group will provide compelling opportunities for our customers, particularly our younger customers, who are ready to experience the next gaming challenge.”
Mount Airy was one of nine local casinos to apply for online gaming licenses.
