William Hill gains access to Maryland and Montana with Golden Entertainment deal
Hills will also run four new sportsbooks in Nevada for casino operator under expanded partnership

William Hill has announced an expanded partnership with Golden Entertainment that will see Hills run four new sportsbooks in Nevada properties, and gain access to Maryland and Montana, pending betting legislation.
William Hill, already operates the race and sportsbook at Pahrump Nugget Hotel & Gambling Hall for Golden Entertainment, but will expand to the Stratosphere, Arizona Charlie’s Decatur and Arizona Charlie’s Boulder in Las Vegas and Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin, Nevada.
William Hill will also continue to operate the race and sportsbooks at Edgewater and Colorado Belle casino resorts in Laughlin after Golden Entertainment finalizes the acquisition of these properties in Q1 2019.
In addition, there will be a minimum of 100 William Hill mobile deposit kiosks at Golden Entertainment locations in Nevada.
The duo will also pursue sports wagering opportunities in Montana and Maryland, subject to enabling legislation within these states.
Golden Entertainment currently operates distributed gaming across Montana in approximately 300 locations and owns Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Maryland.
“This is another important milestone for our US business as William Hill expands its relationship with Golden Entertainment in Nevada and extends our potential reach in the US to more states,” said Hills chief executive Philip Bowcock.
“This shows the benefits of our flexible business model – we are the only operator taking bets in all states where full sports betting is legal and we continue to extend our market access.”
William Hill is expected to begin operating Golden Entertainment’s additional Nevada race and sportsbooks by December 2018, subject to receiving required regulatory approvals.
Joe Asher, CEO of William Hill US, added: “Since entering the United States, William Hill has had an excellent relationship with Golden Entertainment and we look forward to continuing it for many years to come in Nevada and elsewhere as opportunities arise.”
Hills last month announced a multi-year partnership with IGT that will see the two companies create a sports betting solution offered to US lotteries.
The operator will have access to some 15 states following the Golden Entertainment deal.
