Betfred enters Pennsylvania with Wind Creek betting partnership
UK operator snaps up penultimate casino partner in the Keystone State

Betfred US has been granted a conditional sports wagering operator license to provide betting services to tribal casino group Wind Creek Hospitality (WCH), operators of the Wind Creek Bethlehem Resort (formerly Sands Bethlehem).
The UK retail operator was awarded the license in a meeting of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) this week after paying the licensing fee.
The license cost was unconfirmed by the operator, which did not specify whether the deal would include both online and on-site betting.
Betfred signed a similar market-access deal with Iowa casino operator Elite Casino Resorts last July, to develop a multi -channel betting offering.
The firm declined to comment on the deal, although one source said the partnership agreement was in its final stages.
Wind Creek, which operates the Wind Creek Bethlehem Casino close to the Pennsylvania/New Jersey border, is the penultimate Keystone state casino to move into betting.
In May last year, WCH VP of business development Arthur Mothershed told the PGCB that it was working with “a couple of providers” to launch betting “three months or so after closing [a deal].”
Pennsylvania posted betting revenues of $14.7m in November, with a handle of $316.5m.
Betfred is building its US team from Las Vegas and recently hired former SG Digital executive Cynthia Hays as its VP of compliance.
