Sportradar to develop MLB virtual betting game
Offering will enable players to place in-play bets using real historical baseball data

Sportradar has extended its deal with Major League Baseball to develop a virtual betting game that will allow players to place in-play bets using real historical data.
The product will feature official MLB branding and team names and will use motion capture technology to give it a real-life look and feel.
Managing director for sports partnerships at Sportradar David Lampitt said: “Leveraging MLB’s official content, we are confident that we have an enticing product that consumers will love and that bookmakers will benefit from.
“As with all of our virtual sports offerings, our aim was to bring the most realistic look, feel, and betting experience to the market,” he said.
MLB executive vice president for gaming and new business ventures Kenny Gersh said: “One of the reasons we partnered with Sportradar was to develop new, engaging products for our fans leveraging the power of MLB’s best-in-class content.
“This first-of-its-kind virtual offering does just that, and we are excited to bring fans this new entertainment option,” Gersh said.
Sportradar’s virtual gaming solutions business was established in 2010 and includes basketball, tennis, soccer and horseracing games.
