William Hill enters Michigan with betting and gaming deal
Operator to launch its sportsbook and casino apps in partnership with the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians

William Hill has secured market access in Michigan in a deal with the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.
The firm will provide online betting and gaming in the state and, pending regulatory approval, establish a retail sportsbook at the tribe’s Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel.
A second satellite sportsbook will be opened at the Leelanau Sands Casino ahead of the next NFL season.
The William Hill app is expected to launch as soon as final regulations in Michigan are passed.
William Hill US CEO Joe Asher said: “Michigan will be a key state in William Hill’s expansion due to its large population and deep-rooted sports culture with so many popular college and pro sports teams.”
Michael Schrader, CEO of Grand Traverse Resort and Casinos, said: “It was important for us to find a partner with a great sports betting and gaming brand that has proven experience throughout the US market.
“William Hill’s expertise in sports betting operations and marketing strategic media partnerships will ensure we are able to attract customers from throughout the State of Michigan to the online products while offering another great amenity to attract guests to our casinos,” Schrader said.
The Stars Group and PointsBet signed similar deals to enter the state in January.
Operators are limited to using one internet sports betting platform only and are required to use official league data.
