CBS Sports seeks gaming exec to drive sportsbook conversion efforts
Newly advertised role includes building customer acquisition strategies for sports gambling business

CBS Sports is looking to hire a VP audience development for gaming to build a strategy for converting viewers into sports bettors and fantasy players.
The role is the first of its kind for the media giant, which secured an affiliate-style partnership with William Hill last month.
A job ad posted on the CBS Interactive site said the role required a candidate that could build and effectively communicate audience development and customer acquisition strategies for sports gambling businesses.
The successful candidate will also be required to manage affiliate marketing funnels for partnerships and collaborate with strategic partners like William Hill.
Conversion efforts will reach more than 90 million sports fans across a handful of CBS Sports brands including 247Sports, MaxPreps and SportsLine.
As part of its deal with CBS Sports, William Hill group CEO Ulrik Bengtsson recently told EGR NA that Hills’ odds could be featured during CBS coverage of NFL games, for example.
“It could also be presented in the fantasy environment, where you put together your team and alongside that have William Hill odds and the ability to place bets,” he said.
“There are a whole range of interactions in that digital ecosystem once we integrate our product, including all the link-outs to our sites from the online properties that CBS has,” he added.
