BetMGM secures partnership with responsible gambling tool
Operator to roll out PlayPause software across its sports betting brand in North America

GVC has partnered with Conscious Gaming to become the first official partner for the group’s new US-facing responsible gambling tool PlayPause.
GVC, which is set to rebrand as Entain in December subject to a shareholder vote, will roll out the tool across BetMGM – its US joint venture with MGM Resorts.
PlayPause, which will operate across state lines in the US, will provide both GVC and players with additional protections and frameworks to help detect and support problem gambling behaviours.
A cross-state self-exclusion register will afford players greater protection across the country, while PlayPause will also provide GVC with data insights to highlight players who would benefit from outreach schemes based on their playing history.
The new partnership adds yet another feather to the cap of GVC’s new Sustainability Charter, which will see the group donate $133m to responsible gambling causes over the next five years.
The PlayPause link-up follows two new data-led initiatives from GVC having partnered with Mindway AI and Future Anthem earlier this month.
Shay Segev, GVC CEO, said: “We are delighted to be the first official partner of PlayPause. We believe the most responsible operator will be the most successful operator, and PlayPause’s innovative, multi-state approach to responsible gaming in the US aligns with our firm commitment to providing our customers with the safest and most enjoyable experience possible.”
Anna Sainsbury, Conscious Gaming trustee, added: “Conscious Gaming is thrilled to be partnering with GVC and BetMGM to launch PlayPause. To have such a high profile, responsible, and fast-growing operator on board from the start is a fantastic endorsement for the PlayPause initiative.”
