FanDuel agrees gambling blocking partnership with Gamban
US market leader to offer blocking software to self-excluding players for free

FanDuel has agreed on a responsible gambling partnership with gambling blocking service Gamban.
The deal will see FanDuel offer Gamban blocking software to self-excluding players free of charge.
The software will be made available to anyone who chooses to self-exclude from FanDuel’s real-money gaming sites or individuals who identify as having a problem with their gambling.
It will allow FanDuel customers to block access to each FanDuel Group site as well as all real-money gaming sites including legal and offshore sportsbooks, online casinos, poker sites, social gaming sites, and esports sites on up to 15 devices.
Gamban also has a partnership with FanDuel Group parent company Flutter Entertainment to deploy its software in Europe. The agreement with FanDuel has extended the partnership into the US to include FanDuel, TVG, Betfair, Stardust, Fox Bet, PokerStars, and Stars Casino.
Upon rollout of the program, players looking to adopt self-exclusion measures will be able to do so on an opt-in basis.
“Educating customers about the importance of gambling responsibly and within limits is a business imperative and ethically the right thing to do,” FanDuel chief risk and compliance officer Carolyn Renzin said.
“We already offer a suite of tools to help customers enjoy sports betting responsibly. Offering Gamban’s software to those customers signaling they need help adds another layer of protection for our customers, our program, and to the industry,” Renzin added.
Earlier this month, FanDuel became the first US mobile sportsbook operator to sign up to the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) new Have A Game Plan Bet Responsibly public service responsible gambling campaign.
As part of its role in the campaign, which begins in May, FanDuel and its league, team, and media partners will work with the AGA to promote responsible gaming messaging across TV, radio, digital, and in-venue media.
Gamban founder Jack Symonds hailed the FanDuel partnership as a massive moment for the industry and something Gamban had been looking to achieve since day one.
“As the largest real-money gaming provider in the US, FanDuel Group is making a statement of intent and throwing down the gauntlet to operators across the industry to offer self-exclusion support for their vulnerable customers,” Symonds added.
Kindred Group’s Unibet brand recently inked its own deal to offer the service free of charge to US players.
