BetMGM debuts first sportsbook at MLB ballpark in Washington
Retail property adjacent to Nationals Park to offer year-round entertainment
BetMGM has officially opened its newest sportsbook at Nationals Park in Washington, marking the first retail property connected to a Major League Baseball (MLB) stadium.
The unveiling of the sportsbook represents the latest manifestation of BetMGM’s exclusive multi-year partnership with the Nationals.
It follows the launch of the BetMGM mobile app in June 2021, which enabled bettors to place wagers from their phones within a two-block radius of the ballpark.
The 4,000-square-foot BetMGM Sportsbook at Nationals Park will be open seven days a week and has a capacity of 187, providing fans and bettors with year-round entertainment.
“We’re constantly pushing the boundaries to deliver sports fans unique experiences and that’s just what we’ve done with the new BetMGM Sportsbook at Nationals Park,” said BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt.
“Whether fans are attending baseball games or looking for a place to watch any sporting event, the BetMGM Sportsbook at Nationals Park is bound to be one of the most engaging sports viewing environments in the District.”
Situated next to the ballpark’s center-field entrance, the sportsbook features a live odds board reflecting real-time updates, six betting windows and a bank of self-service kiosks for wagering. That’s in addition to 40 big-screen TVs and a full menu of beverage and dining options.
“The BetMGM Sportsbook at Nationals Park represents the newest way in which we are providing our fans with the best experiences in sports and entertainment,” said Lerner Sports chief operating officer Alan Gottlieb. “Upon its opening, the sportsbook immediately becomes one of the neighborhood’s premier venues for both the savvy bettor and casual fan to watch the top events in an upscale and electric atmosphere.”
While the sportsbook won’t be accessible from inside the stadium, fans will be able to make wagers via the BetMGM mobile app while attending a game.
The Nationals Park retail property adds to BetMGM’s growing footprint in the region, complementing the newly-opened sportsbook at the MGM National Harbor in Maryland. BetMGM’s app is also available anywhere in Virginia.
