Rush Street Interactive gets green light for Ontario launch
Operator’s BetRivers brand receives license from Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario

Rush Street Interactive (RSI) has formally received licensing approval from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), positioning the operator to be on the starting line when the Canadian province launches online betting on April 4.
RSI’s BetRivers brand received its igaming operator registration from the AGCO, paving the way for the rollout of its mobile sportsbook and icasino platforms on the first day online wagering is permitted in Ontario.
“The receipt of our registration in Ontario is an important milestone that demonstrates our commitment to operating only in legalized markets where we pay local taxes, and we are grateful for the trust of the AGCO,” said RSI CEO Richard Schwartz.
“We are now one step closer to launching the BetRivers real-money online casino and sportsbook in Ontario and bringing our unique betting options, such as our innovative peer-to-peer slot tournaments or same-game parlays, fast payouts, and award-winning customer service to the province’s millions of residents.”
A leading igaming operator in the US market, RSI made it clear from the outset it intended to take full advantage of the Canadian opportunity.
RSI launched its free-to-play social gaming platform, CASINO4FUN, in October to generate brand awareness and begin building out a database of potential real-money users in Ontario.
CASINO4FUN runs on the same proprietary tech stack that powers RSI’s real-money platform. The operator uses Kambi to run its online sportsbook.
“Our free-to-play social gaming platform has experienced strong traction in Ontario to date, and we look forward to offering those players similarly entertaining and responsible experiences when our real-money offerings come April 4,” said Schwartz.
Canada will become the third country in which RSI is operational – joining the US and Colombia – once it launches in Ontario.
