PointsBet hit with multi-state sportsbook outage
Australian-headquartered operator confirms restoration of service after drawing consternation from bettors

PointsBet has apologized to its sportsbook customers in several states after the Australian-headquartered operator’s US sportsbook went offline, leaving many bettors unable to place bets, deposit and withdraw funds.
Reports of outages began to surface on May 24 across many of its operational markets, most notably Indiana where the outage provoked the ire of bettors.
Due to an unexpected issue on our site, PointsBet is currently unavailable. Our teams are working to restore services as fast as possible. We will notify customers as soon as the system is back up and running and ensure any bets placed prior to the issue will be settled as usual.

The operator later confirmed a resumption of operations in affected markets, with the exception of Indiana, where the issue remained ongoing for a further period.
We have restored services in all but Indiana, where we are working to resolve ongoing issues. We are reaching out to customers to let them know our system is up and running, thank them for their patience, and ensure any bets placed prior to the outage will be settled as usual.

Well looks like I can finally log in again. Incredible to find unsettled bets though, one match which completed almost 24 hrs ago and a second which should have settled on 5/23. Unreal.

Several Twitter users highlighted PointsBet’s criticism of similar outages occurring on its main sportsbook rivals including Draftkings, which drew remarks from PointsBet over its outage during March Madness.
If you don't toss in some free bets or something it shows you don't care about your customers at all and there are far too many other apps to use your business is going to tank

PointsBet has not confirmed the reason for the outage or the states affected when contacted by EGR for comment, however it has confirmed that services have been resumed in all markets.
“We have reached out to all customers to notify them that our system is back up and running, as well assure them that any bets placed prior to the outage will be settled as usual,” a spokesperson for PointsBet said in a statement provided to EGR.
“We thank all users for their patience. Should customers have any questions regarding this inconvenience, we encourage you to contact our customer service team,” PointsBet added.
PointsBet’s operational US footprint encompasses eight states including New Jersey, Illinois, Michigan and Indiana.
It recently launched online casino products in Pennsylvania.
