SuperBook Sports clinches Baltimore Orioles partnership
Nevada-headquartered operator eyes future Maryland retail sports betting launch with MLB team deal

SuperBook Sports has agreed a long-term sports betting partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB) side the Baltimore Orioles ahead of the anticipated launch of sports betting in Maryland in 2023.
The partnership will see the development of a retail sports betting lounge in Oriole Park at Camden Yards, which is expected to complete in 2023 and is subject to approval by the Maryland Lottery & Gaming Control Commission.
In addition, SuperBook branding will be prevalent throughout the ballpark, including on the center field scoreboard and home plate signage, as well as on-site activations during games.
SuperBook will also be featured in the MLB Ballpark app and on the Orioles’ social media platforms.
SuperBook Sports VP of marketing Kristin Mackey welcomed the deal, citing its benefits for the Nevada-headquartered sportsbook operator.
“The heritage and tradition of the Orioles brand fits perfectly with the SuperBook brand,” Mackey said.
“To be a part of ‘The Ballpark That Forever Changed Baseball’ is an honor, and we look forward to bringing a one-of-a-kind sports lounge experience to fans. The future of the Orioles is bright, and we look forward to continuing to grow together for years to come,” she added.
Despite being signed into law in 2021, Maryland is still to launch its regulated sportsbook market, falling behind in the process due to inaction and a lack of impetus from the Maryland Sports Wagering and Regulatory Commission (SWARC).
In June, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan fired a warning shot across the bow of SWARC, calling on the licensing entity to get sports betting up and running by the start of the next NFL regular season on September 8, 2022.
The process to bring that timetable into reality is still ongoing.
