DraftKings lauds Boston benefits ahead of Massachusetts sportsbook launch
Operator set to debut localized ad campaign as well as hosting events to commemorate Commonwealth launch

DraftKings has announced its sports betting launch slate in Massachusetts, ahead of the formal launch of online sports betting in the Commonwealth on March 10.
To commemorate the launch in DraftKings’ home state, the firm will host a number of events in the days preceding and after launch, including sports watch parties in Boston, as well as a ceremonial bet celebration featuring DraftKings CEO and chairman Jason Robins.
In an effort to raise additional awareness about the arrival of legal online sports betting in Massachusetts, DraftKings is set to premiere a “Bet Local” commercial starting March 10.
The campaign features notable hometown sports heroes and celebrities, including David Ortiz, Zdeno Chara, Brian Scalabrine, comedian Lenny Clarke, and more.
In addition to the local events, DraftKings has said it will offer Massachusetts’ bettors exclusive promotional offers aimed at gaining market share in the state.
DraftKings CEO Robins lauded the benefits of finally having sports betting in the firm’s home base of Boston, where DraftKings has been headquartered since its inception.
“It was just over 10 years ago when we launched DraftKings from a spare bedroom in Watertown, and now we are proud to have the opportunity to deliver a safe and legal sports betting product to millions of diehard sports fans across Massachusetts,” Robins said.
“This launch will mark a major milestone for our company, and we’re proud to become the hometown sportsbook for customers in the Commonwealth,” he added.
DraftKings has existing marketing-led relationships with Massachusetts’ local sports teams including the Boston Bruins, New England Patriots, New England Revolution, and NBA side the Boston Celtics.
The firm will be one of just seven operators launching sportsbooks in Massachusetts on March 10, with Bally’s, Fanatics, and Super Group’s Betway brand set to launch later this year.
