
New Jersey online revenues continue to climb
August gross gaming revenue up 16% year-on-year to $12.2m driven by growth in online casino
New Jerseyâs online gaming market posted another solid month of growth with casino powering a 16% increase in revenues during August, according to the latest figures released by the stateâs Division of Gaming Enforcement. [private]
Total gross gaming revenues (GGR) hit $12.2m compared with $10.5m during the same period last year, with poker contributing $2m of the total (down 12% YoY) and casino $10.2m (up 23% YoY).
Borgata remained the market leader in terms of gross win with revenues of $3.7m in August, with $1.1m coming from poker and $2.6m from casino.
But while the operatorâs casino business increased 13% YoY, poker fell 8% during the period as the vertical continues to suffer decline.
Tropicana hung on to second spot in during the month, with GGR from its TropicanaCasino.com and VirginCasino.com sites reaching $2.79m.
Caesars Interactive reclaimed third place from Golden Nugget with GGR of $2.77m with casino contributing $1.8m to the total, a 13% increase on last year.
Golden Nugget, which includes contributions from BetfairCasino.com, saw revenues plummet 18% sequentially to $2.25m in August, but increase an impressive 184% compared with 2014.
Resorts Casino continued to drive impressive growth from its ResortsCasino.com and MoheganSunCasino.com sites, with GGR up 32% MoM to $0.74m despite only launching in February.
The latest numbers take the stateâs total online gross win year to date to $96.7mm, a 16% increase on the same period last year.
