Boyd Gaming has launched the B Connected Sports & Race app, which it claims is the first app in Nevada that allows customers to bet on both racing and sports events.
The app, powered by Miomni Gaming, gives customers access to pari-mutuel wagering at more than a dozen major US racetracks, as well as the traditional sports betting options.
“This is a landmark moment for the industry, and for Boyd Gaming,” said Bob Scucci, director of race and sports for Boyd Gaming Nevada.
“Our customers have embraced the convenience and excitement of wagering on sports events on their mobile devices. Â Today, we’re proud to be the first in Nevada to offer the same level of functionality and flexibility to horse bettors.”
Miomni spent more than a year developing and testing the app, which offers all of the betting options available at the land-based race books, including exotics such as exactas and trifectas.
“We are thrilled to provide the first mobile sports wagering app in Nevada to include pari-mutuel horse betting,” said Miomni Gaming CEO Mike Venner. “Miomni’s technology will help introduce the sport of horse racing to an entire new generation of fans.”
Future versions of the Race & Sports app will include video, enabling customers to watch live races and replays from within the app.
The launch continues a recent trend of Vegas casinos upgrading their apps, after MGM Resorts and Stations both unveiled new products in the last month.
