Ex-Sci Games exec launches consultancy to support US online expansion
Kevin Vonasek steps down from the supplier after two years to set up Vegas-based agency

Former Scientific Games VP of business development for the Americas Kevin Vonasek has left the supplier to start his own consultancy aimed at assisting land-based operators online.
Vonasek Gaming Group was launched this week following his exit from Scientific Games in March.
The firm is based in Las Vegas and is seeking to incorporate industry talent from across the country, with expertise in business expansion, product development and operations in US-based igaming and mobile betting.

“Vonasek Gaming Group helps provide brick and mortar operators with unbiased first-hand market analysis and forecasting as well as product and partner evaluation and commercial expertise,” Vonasek told EGR.
“We factor in [clients’] appetite for risk and other economic responsibilities, whether that be to shareholders or a tribal nation,” he added.
Vonasek spent five years in senior roles at NYX Gaming Group before the platform was acquired by Sci Games in 2018.
He also spent four years as chief product officer at online games provider ZEN Entertainment Network. Prior to that, he was CTO at PokerCreations.com parent company Power Play Development.
“Today US commercial casinos, tribal casinos, racetracks and related entities know that this new content is headed their way, but many lack the in-house resources to quickly evaluate and navigate all the options being presented to them,” Vonasek said.
“They may need help strategizing on how best to lobby and protect their long-term interests based on their unique competitive position within their unique jurisdiction,” he added.
