Bet365 makes Texas inroads with new free-to-play launch
Global betting heavyweight joins forces with the San Antonio Spurs in new marketing deal

Bet365 has agreed a betting partnership with NBA Western Conference team the San Antonio Spurs.
The marketing-themed partnership centers on a jointly developed “Call Your Shot” free-to-play (F2P) game which offers NBA fans the chance to win prizes and exclusive experiences.
The predictor game allows players to collect credits to win prizes.
Prizes will include courtside seats, a super box experience for 10, suite packages, charter club tickets, plaza level tickets, autographed items, authentic jerseys, and one-of-a-kind Spurs prize packs.
Call Your Shot will launch on the San Antonio Spurs mobile app later in October and marks the first partnership between bet365 and an NBA team.
Bet365 will also be integrated into advertising signage at the team’s AT&T Center stadium during San Antonio Spurs home games.
The firm will also feature on the San Antonio Spurs website and across social media channels.
Spurs Sports & Entertainment chief revenue officer Frank Miceli welcomed the new partnership with bet365.
“Finding groundbreaking and exciting ways to engage with our fans has long been a priority for our organization,” Miceli explained.
He said: “Our partnership with bet365 is part of our vision to provide innovative and memorable experiences for Spurs fans everywhere.”
Sports betting is currently illegal in Texas, however the vertical has been the subject of significant legislative activity during 2021, with multiple bills currently being considered by Texas representatives.
There are also no land-based casino properties or other forms of gambling in the state aside from the Texas State Lottery.
Neighboring Louisiana launched its own sports betting market earlier this month, with Betfred opening a retail sportsbook at the tribal-owned Paragon Casino.
