BetMGM prepares for DC launch with Washington Nationals deal
Firm to open sportsbook in Nationals Park as second commercial operator to launch in Capitol City

BetMGM is preparing to launch in Washington DC via an exclusive deal with the MLB’s Washington Nationals and their home stadium Nationals Park.
The partnership will include a new BetMGM sportsbook venue within the stadium, across from the National Team Store.
MGM also owns an eight-seat luxury sports box in the venue, dubbed the MGM National Harbor Dugout Club.
“The BetMGM mobile app will enable our fans to engage with the game in new and exciting ways, while the BetMGM Sportsbook connected to Nationals Park will provide Nationals fans and the DC community with a first-class gathering place to celebrate their passion for sports together,” said Alan Gottlieb, COO of Nationals parent-company Lerner Sports Group.
Chief revenue officer at BetMGM, Matt Prevost, said: “This new partnership with the Nationals is our most in-depth partnership with a team and showcases the multitude of ways we’re able to engage fans in and out of stadiums.
“We’re extremely excited to work together to create unique experiences for Nationals fans and the broader DC metro area during and after games,” he added.
Users of the app will be able to generate exclusive benefits from the operator’s M life Rewards program.
As per regulations in DC, companies can operate mobile sports wagering within its licensed facility and within the two-block zone surrounding the facility.
BetMGM will be the second commercial operator to launch in the District of Colombia, following William Hill’s deal with Monumental Sports & Entertainment, which enables mobile betting in the Capital One Arena.
The district’s lottery provider, Intralot, also operates mobile sportsbook Gambet in the state but the offering has been heavily criticized for poor pricing.
