
Bob Boughner to retire this summer
Boyd Gaming chief business development officer played key role in the Borgataâs online gaming launch in New Jersey
Boyd Gaming chief business development officer Bob Boughner will retire this summer although remain a member of the operatorâs board of directors, the company announced this morning. [private]
Boughner joined Boyd Gaming, which operates the Borgata in New Jersey, back in 1976 and has held a number of senior roles including chief operating officer as well as chief exec of the Borgata.
He also played a key role in the Borgata launching its online gaming sites in New Jersey, which have claimed the lionâs share of the market since the state opened its digital doors back in 2013.
âThroughout the decades, Bob has successfully executed some of our company’s most important strategic initiatives, helping Boyd Gaming grow into one of the largest and most successful gaming companies in the US,â said Boyd CEO Keith Smith.
âI congratulate Bob on a tremendous career, and look forward to his continued counsel and invaluable insight as a member of our board of directors,â he added.
Boughner has served in his current position since 2012, and currently leads a variety of business development initiatives as well as the operatorâs corporate administrative and support departments.
âIt has truly been a privilege to work alongside Bill Boyd and the entire senior leadership team, and I look forward to continuing to support our company’s growth, development and success as a member of the board of directors,” Boughner said.
Boyd Gaming plans to announce details regarding Boughnerâs replacement in the near future.
