Caesars adds NHL legend in New York sports betting push
New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist becomes latest brand ambassador

Caesars Entertainment has recruited NHL goaltending legend Henrik Lundqvist to serve as brand ambassador in the New York sports betting market.
The 39-year-old hockey great will provide support to Caesars through fan engagement opportunities led primarily through the Caesars Rewards program.
“Not only will sports bettors in the Empire State earn tier credits and reward credits with every wager placed on the app, but they will have the chance to personally interact with Lundqvist in various ways through upcoming activations,” Caesars said.

Lundqvist joins current Caesars ambassadors the Manning family and former ESPN pundit Trey Wingo.
Caesars Digital CMO Sharon Otterman welcomed the addition of Lundqvist to the firm’s roster of talent, suggesting the addition would pay dividends for Caesars in its sportsbook efforts.
“Henrik’s legacy in New York speaks for itself after the historic career he had for the Rangers and all of the great work he has done for the state,” Otterman said.
“We’re thrilled to bring him aboard to help us engage with the passionate sports fans in New York as we offer them a sports betting experience worthy of the emperors they are,” she added.
Lundqvist’s appointment as brand ambassador comes as the Caesars Sportsbook made its debut in New York’s sports betting market, having been approved as one of four operators that went live on Saturday.
However, the hugely important launch did not entirely go as planned for the US casino and igaming firm, with its sportsbook app ceasing operation for several periods on both Saturday and Sunday.

The outage drew consternation from many sports bettors who could not access Caesars’ $300 sign-up bonus and deposit match of up to $3,000 promotion.

In contrast, DraftKings, FanDuel, and Rush Street Interactive (BetRivers) reported no outages throughout the entirety of the opening weekend.
