DraftKings hails “clear statement of intent” with IBIA membership
US sports betting heavyweight joins international betting monitoring and alert platform
DraftKings has become the latest sports betting operator to join the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA).
Under the terms of the agreement, DraftKings and regulated operator clients using its SBTech sports betting platform will benefit from the IBIA’s monitoring and alert platform.
However, to become full IBIA members, SBTech’s B2B clients must go through their own membership application process.
It is understood that around five operators using SBTech trading services already have access to the IBIA’s alert system through their own IBIA membership.
Other DraftKings private operator partners will not have access to the monitoring system.
“Joining the leading global voice on integrity for the licensed betting industry is a clear statement of intent by DraftKings,” said DraftKings chief compliance officer Tim Dent.
“The company places the protection of its client’s businesses, consumers and sporting events from corruption at the forefront of our corporate strategy.
“This agreement provides DraftKings’ private operator sportsbook clients with unparalleled trading and risk management protection,” Dent added.
The addition of DraftKings has increased the number of betting brands feeding into IBIA’s system to more than 85.
Members include many of the largest betting operators in the world, such as GVC, bet365, 888, Flutter, William Hill, Betsson and Kindred Group.
All member firms feed data into the centralised monitoring and alert platform, which identifies suspicious betting patterns, allowing the IBIA to report them to regulatory and law enforcement bodies and sports governing bodies.
“The association is delighted to welcome another leading name in the regulated sports betting sector to its ranks,” IBIA CEO Khalid Ali said.
“DraftKings operates in a truly global business landscape. The addition of DraftKings’ sportsbook trading platform provides a significant boost to IBIA’s already extensive global regulated sports betting market and customer monitoring capabilities,” he added.
