Liv Biesemans has been at the firm since 2012 and is keen to push its responsible gambling agenda in the US

Kindred Group deputy general counsel Liv Biesemans has relocated to the operator’s New York hub to grow its local legal and compliance operations, EGR North America has learned.
Biesemans joined the US team in October and has since made a number of hires in regulatory affairs, compliance, player sustainability and customer services.
“Our primary focus is New Jersey and Pennsylvania where we are licensed and live,” Biesemans told EGR.

“We’re very committed to maintaining a close relationship with the regulators and we’re focused on an integrated compliance mindset throughout the entire business and managing our own customer service centre for Pennsylvania is a fundamental part of that,” she said.
She said the operator wanted to play an active role in local trade bodies and offer its extensive knowledge and experience of responsible gambling measures to others in the market.
“We believe that we have a lot to contribute with in this area after years of investing in research, know-how, processes and technology,” Biesemans said.
“Another important area for us is contributing to communities through different partnerships and We have already initiated this through our great partnerships with the New Jersey Devils, Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Union.”
Biesemans led Kindred’s legal and compliance operations at its Wimbledon headquarters for eight years.
The firm’s US-based legal team currently consists of ten staffers, including customer services.
Kindred moved into its New York headquarters in July with the ambition of growing its team to 30 by the end of the year.
