
Exclusive: Roar Digital hires VP compliance in New Jersey
Charles LaBoy joins GVC/MGM JV from tribal gaming commission in Michigan


GVC and MGM’s JV Roar Digital has hired Charles LaBoy, the former director for the Pokagon Tribe Gaming Commission in Michigan, to oversee its corporate compliance program in the US.
LaBoy joins Roar as vice president of compliance, with almost 25 years’ experience in the US casino and lottery industries.
He spent over two years at the Pokagon Band Gaming Commission, where he oversaw licensing processes and ensured the Commission was compliant with the National Indian Gaming Commission.
Prior to that he was chairman for the Maryland Amusement Game Advisory Committee and assistant director for the Maryland Lottery.
He also worked for the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission for 13 years.
LaBoy is looking to fill a number of compliance-related roles at the operator’s New Jersey hub, including technical compliance analyst and compliance analyst.
LaBoy is also part of sports betting stakeholders work group in Colorado to help establish the state’s betting legislation.
Roar is also hiring for a VP retail entertainment operations to manage operations at multiple MGM-owned casino and racetrack sportsbooks across the US.
