GAN promotes from within for new president of B2C operations
Former senior vice president Endre Nesset takes up the reins at Coolbet following the departure of Anders Karlsen

GAN has announced that Endre Nesset has been appointed the company’s president of B2C (Coolbet) following the resignation of former president Anders Karlsen last week.
Having become one of the Coolbet’s first employees after serving as chief operating officer upon the company’s formation in 2015, Karlsen leaves the role after a successful seven-year stint during which he played a critical role in driving its global expansion.
Following GAN’s acquisition of Coolbet in January 2021, Karlsen was also a key figure in leveraging Coolbet Sportsbook to launch GAN in the US market, but he will now be succeeded by Nesset, who had previously served as senior vice president of sports at GAN/Coolbet since joining the company in 2020.
As a result, Nesset already has a wealth of transferable knowledge about the GAN family that he will take with him into the new role, with this being further supplemented by the considerable industry experience he has gained from online gaming across B2C and B2B operations in multiple markets and continents.
Prior to joining GAN, Nesset spent more than seven years with Gaming Innovation Group, where he filled senior roles including head of trading, head of sports and, most recently, director of sports.
He described himself as being “excited and honoured” to follow in Karlsen’s footsteps and announced his intentions to take the group to new heights following his appointment.
Speaking of the recent presidential reshuffle, GAN CEO Dermot Smurfit said: “I want to thank Anders and express the gratitude of the entire GAN team for his leadership, expertise and hard work since the combination of the GAN and Coolbet teams almost two years ago.
“Anders has helped lay the foundation for what we expect to be a robust and exciting market acceptance of our GAN Sports offering in the future. I’d also like to congratulate Endre, who in his time here has built an incredibly strong sportsbook organisation and is highly deserving of his new role.”
Karlsen added: “I am incredibly proud of what we built at Coolbet and thrilled to see its continued success since our combination with the GAN team. I have tremendous confidence that the B2C segment and Coolbet product will continue to thrive under Endre’s leadership.”
