
Genius Sports lands NFL exec as VP of product, media and fan engagement
Glen Herold links up with New York-listed supplier following five-year stint with NFL’s media division


Genius Sports has appointed NFL exec Glen Herold as its new VP of product, media and fan engagement.
Herold joins the data giant from NFL Media, where he held a series of senior positions across a five-year spell.
He most recently served as head of gaming and sports betting, having also been senior director of both digital strategy and media strategy.
Prior to joining NFL Media, Herold launched his own daily fantasy sports start-up, GOAT.
In his role as VP of product, media and fan engagement, Herold will be responsible for overseeing the three divisions as Genius Sports looks to continue to diversify its product offering.
The former Deloitte consultant will be based in Los Angeles.
Speaking on his appointment, Herold said: “I’m excited to share that I’ve started a new position as vice-president of product, media and fan engagement at Genius Sports.
“I’ll be working as part of a talented team that is powering the global ecosystem of sports, sports betting and media.
“From hobby to my own product, my own product to the NFL, and now the NFL to the centre of sports globally, I appreciate that journey and am so grateful for those that helped make it possible,” he added.
Earlier this month, Genius Sports posted a 59.9% year-on-year increase in group revenue to $85.9m.
