Mexico experience will help US ambitions, says Playtech
Supplier looks to learn from Caliente partnership to prepare its betting solution for US users

Playtech’s experience in the Mexican betting market is ideal preparation for its eventual launch in the US, the operator has said.
Speaking to EGR, Playtech’s director of corporate development Jonathan Doubilet, said the firm had been using Vegas lines and concepts for US sports for five years via its partnership with Caliente.
“We have essentially adapted our trading operations to cater to Vegas lines and US trading methodologies, specifically US professional and college sports, trading more than Vegas itself over the past five years,” Doubilet said.
Doubilet said there were a number of parallels between Mexican and US bettors, as Mexican players are accustomed to the same betting experience, featured events and bet types.
Playtech is aiming to enter the US market imminently, pending final approval for its New Jersey license.
The supplier has established a customer-facing base in New York’s midtown so its potential partners can experience its omni-channel betting solution first-hand.
It will continue to operate its technical operations and majority of R&D from Europe.
Doubilet said the firm’s Latam-based technical support and trading operations would be available to US operators during US hours.
