
New Jersey egaming reaches record high in January
Gross gaming revenue up 26% year on year to $14.6m as the market continues to grow Â
Online gaming continues to build momentum in New Jersey after the state posted a third consecutive month of record revenues according to the latest figures released by the stateâs Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE). [private]
The latest filings show that gross gaming revenue (GGR) was up 26% year on year in January to a record $14.6m driven by a 35% surge in casino contributions to $12.5m. Poker, however, fell 6% to $2.1m during the month.
The Borgata, which recently put its partnership with bwin.party under review, remained firmly at the top of the table, attracting $4.6m representing a 21% increase on 2014. Casino accounted for $3.4m of the total, and poker $1.2m.
Caesars Interactive also enjoyed healthy year on year growth, with revenues up 14% to $3.2m. While the operatorâs poker sites remained relatively flat (GGR was $952,693) casino jumped from $1.7m in 2014 to $2.3m this year.
Tropicana held on to third spot with GGR of $2.9m, up 12% on the previous year, while Golden Nugget saw revenues remain relatively flat at $2.5m. The numbers represent a 4% increase and 13% decrease month on month respectively.
Resorts, which operates the ResortsCasino.com and MoheganSunCasino.com sites has continued its run of growth since entering the market a little under a year ago, with GGR up 8% sequentially to $1.4m.
