
New Jersey revenues up 17% in September
Growth driven by a 25% uptick in casino revenues during the month
New Jerseyâs internet gambling market continues to show signs of improvement with revenues up 17% year on year in September, according to the latest figures published by the stateâs Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE). [private]
Gross gaming revenue (GGR) for the period reached $12m compared with $10.2m in September 2014, with casino contributing $10.3m (up 25% YoY) while poker brought in $1.7m (down 15.1% YoY) with GGR year to date up 15% at $108.7m.
Borgata, whose brands include partypoker, partycasino and PalaCasino, remained the market leader in terms of gross win with revenues of $3.4m with $0.95m coming from poker and $2.4m. And while casino revenues increased 5%, poker fell 20% compared with the previous year.
Caesars Interactive, which operates the CaesarsCasino, HarrahsCasino and 888 poker and casino brands, reclaimed second spot from Tropicana with total GGR of $2.7m during the month, with poker contributing $0.82m and casino $1.8m, despite revenues remaining flat on a year on year basis.
Tropicana recorded a 23% increase in casino revenues to $2.6m during the period, while Golden Nugget saw revenues grow from $1.1m in September 2014 to $2.4m this year, aided by contributions from BetfairCasino.com.
Resorts Casino continued to post impressive sequential growth with revenues up almost 30% to $0.94m. But the imminent launch of PokerStars and Full Tilt, which will use Resortsâ interactive wagering permit, will provide a huge boost to the operator.
