Loto-Québec said revenues grew from CAD$11.5m to a total of $46.2m driven by the launch of new games and expanding its online entertainment offering.
That amount is just $2.7m less than $48.9m earned from its online business for the 2014-2015 financial year, with the operator very much on track to top that for the FY 2015-2016.
The news comes after the Michigan Lottery recently announced it had generated FY 2014 revenues of US$147m, with more than 250,000 registered players.
At the start of the year, the lottery rolled out online ticket sales for the first time having previously offered just instant win scratch games.
