The one page bill â tabled in the Gaming Oversight Committee â states no licensed operator âmay hold any financial interestâ in an enterprise that offers âsimulation of an interactive gameâ.
That also includes simulated gaming that âwould otherwise be considered a non-gambling gameâ that doesnât require a license to operate in the state.
The bill â HB 1456 â has the backing of eight other state lawmakers, and would see the ban come into force 60 days after being passed into law.
HB 1456 will likely encounter opposition from the likes of the Parx Casino, which has recently launched a simulated gaming product with GameAccount Network.
The billâs introduction comes at a time when the state is gearing up towards making a decision on whether to pass egaming legislation in the current session, with four bills in play.
