Playtech inks BetBuddy supply deal with Ontario Lottery
Multi-channel provider will deploy BetBuddy tech across Canadian company platform

Playtech has agreed a deal with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) that will see Playtech provide access to its BetBuddy responsible gaming tool.
Under the terms of the deal, BetBuddy will be deployed on the OLG’s online gaming platform, which currently manages gaming, lottery and internet gaming throughout the province.
The initial working relationship between Playtech and the OLG first began in 2014.
Shimon Akad, Playtech chief operating officer said OLG was respected globally for its “outstanding” responsible gambling programmes.
OLG is the only online gambling provider to win the World Lottery Association’s Best Overall Responsible Gambling Program award twice, most recently in 2018.
BetBuddy was acquired by multi-channel operator Playtech in 2017 and has since been integrated fully into its IMS player management system, Playtech One.
“Our partnership, including the use of BetBuddy, will help to keep OLG at the forefront of the industry when it comes to promoting safer play,” Akad added.
