IT sector veteran Mary-Beth Hosking joins Australia-headquartered operator as US marketing campaign kicks up a notch with new advertising spots

PointsBet has appointed IT industry veteran Mary-Beth Hosking as its new chief information officer (CIO).
A native of Australia, where PointsBet is headquartered, Hosking will report directly to PointsBet president of product & technology, Manjit Singh.
PointsBet has confirmed Hosking will oversee the firms overall IT strategy, “aligning our resources with business goals to optimise our position in one of the world’s fastest-growing industries”.
She most recently served as head of change delivery in the Asia-Pacific region for optical brand Specsavers and spent 15 years at Toll Group in various IT related roles.
Speaking about the appointment, Manjit Singh said he was delighted to welcome Hosking as CIO, highlighting her extensive experience.
“With her strong background in information systems and technologies, Mary-Beth will manage the global PointsBet infrastructure and lead a very talented team who follows industry best practices in operating our systems efficiently with high reliability and security,” Singh added.
Elsewhere, in the US, PointsBet has debuted two new ad spots featuring brand ambassador, Super Bowl winning QB, Drew Brees as part of its ‘Live Your Bet Life’ campaign first launched in October.
The new spots “Marlin” and “Rocket” were produced by PointsBet media agency Troika Media Group and will air nationally and where PointsBet is available to users.

Addressing the second phase of the campaign, PointsBet USA CMO Kyle Christensen said: “Credit to the team behind these ads for focusing on our consumer needs and reflecting them within.
“They personify the heightened experience our users feel within the app and our in-play product, compared to the countless promotions and clutter we are currently seeing in the space.
“In-play betting is poised to dominate sports betting in the U.S., and the company with the fastest and most dynamic experience will lead the space.
“The PointsBet app is the gold standard, and we are just scratching the surface of what’s to come with our live market betting options,” Christensen added.
