Twin River and Tiverton Casino post combined book revenue $2.15m in June off a handle of $14.74m

Rhode Island’s two regulated sports betting operators, Twin River and Tiverton Casino, recorded a combined book revenue of $2.15m in June, a record high for the New England state.
The Ocean State posted a 139% month-on-month increase in revenue from the $899,165 reported in May, and a slight increase on a previous revenue high of $1.97m reported in April.
Twin River was the standout performer last month after announcing a significant rise from $575,000 to $1.7m, while Tiverton Casino recorded a 37% book revenue increase from $324,000 to $445,000.
Book revenue is defined as revenue before any commissions, operating, or allocable expenses.
Rhode Island’s total handle came in at $14.74m in June, compared to $18.9m in May, with Twin River and Tiverton Casino taking $11.7m and $3m respectively.
Sports betting was legalized in Rhode Island in June 2018, with Twin River taking the first wagers in November, and earlier this year adjusted its legislation to allow mobile betting.
