Rush Street granted Colombia license ahead of World Cup
New Jersey operator to launch rushbet.co site a week before kick-off as Colombia market reaches £19.6m

US casino firm Rush Street has been granted an online licence to operate in Colombia under the subsidiary, Rush Street Interactive Colombia SAS.
As the 11th operator to be granted a licence by the Colombian regulator, Coljuegos, Rush Street has launched its rushbet.co sportsbook a week before the World Cup starts.
The site will also offer local players a portfolio of casino games.
Rush Street recently partnered with Kambi ahead of the regulation of sports betting in the US, and runs a successful online casino in New Jersey under the SugarHouse brand.
President of Coljuegos, Juan Pérez Hidalgo, said Colombia had a high demand for football and would see many bets placed during the World Cup.
“We have worked as an entity to have a regulation that provides those who meet the established financial, technical and legal requirements, open opportunities in the industry,” Pérez Hidalgo added.
Pérez Hidalgo said Colombia’s GGR had grown to $75bn (£19.6m) since going live last July and over 614,000 users have been registered to bet with licenced operators.
In March Spanish operator and Ladbrokes Coral JV, Sportium, was granted a licence to provide online sports betting in Colombia.
